AGUACATES

Valle de Bravo, Mexico
2023-2026

A single-story residence set within a natural woodland setting, designed to adapt to the site’s topography and to take advantage of views toward the mountain landscape beyond the property.

A large roof organizes the program of the house into two clearly defined zones: the social areas on one side and the bedrooms on the other, articulated by an open central space that accommodates a covered outdoor living area, conceived as the heart of the project and a point of connection between interior and exterior.

The structure is supported by a series of concrete columns that establish the rhythm of the spaces and lift the house off the ground, allowing vegetation and natural water flow to pass beneath the building. Taking advantage of the site’s changes in level, an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue area and a pool terrace are located below the central space, seamlessly integrated into the landscape.

The remainder of the site is preserved with its existing vegetation, incorporating pathways that follow the natural traces defined by the topography and woodland growth, reinforcing a respectful relationship between architecture and its environment.
