BOSQUE FERROCARRILERO

Xalapa, Mexico
2021

The project, promoted by SEDATU (Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development), emerges from the need to transform a deteriorated forest into an urban park that incorporates a Center for Ecotechnologies.

A series of pavilions are carefully integrated into the site, responding to the existing conditions of the forest and its endemic vegetation. New pathways are traced by recognizing long-established pedestrian flows, reinforcing routes that have been used by the community for many years.

The main pavilion façade is clad in black terracotta tiles, allowing for cross ventilation and natural daylight within the interior spaces, strengthening the project’s environmental and passive design strategies.
