Mexican Pavilion
Expo Shanghai 2010

Shanghái, China
2010

The design of the pavilion is born from the idea of representing the Mexican culture through some traditional elements that haven’t been used before in these kind of fairs. It creates a green open public space within the expo rather than creating a protagonist building. Its volume is defined by a talud (slope) that becomes a public plaza open to all visitors of the expo. This plaza is shaded by structures with a shape of “kites”, enhacing the experience of the openness, visible form the distance. The exhibition program is located under the plaza.
