VOLGA HOTEL

Mexico City
2021

Hotel Volga is located in one of the most central areas of Mexico City; however, its main façade faces a secondary, low-traffic street characterized primarily by service-related uses. In response to this urban condition, the project turns its organization inward, structured around a central courtyard that extends from the basement and is perceived as an “urban cenote”, toward which all guest rooms are oriented.

The hotel reception is located in the basement, facing the courtyard, and is accessed through an organic staircase that unfolds from the ground floor, guiding visitors upon their arrival at the hotel

The façade responds creatively to the conditions of the street by housing the building’s vertical service circulations. These are transformed into a sequence of amenities arranged along the stair landings, generating a vertical route that connects the ground floor with the rooftop, where the bar and swimming pool are located, crowning the experience of the building.
